ANGELI: The Pirate, The Angel & The Irishman Spotlight

The Book

Angeli by Amy Vansant
Genre: urban fantasy

About Angeli:

Legendary pirate ANNE BONNY is alive and swashbuckling her way through the 21st century, but her stormy romantic life would make Blackbeard pack up ship and move to Kansas. Anne is a Sentinel, a soldier for mankind’s mysterious guardians, the Angeli. Anne will live 1000 years with enhanced stamina and strength, but in return, she’s required to hunt Perfidia, corrupted Angeli who drain human energy to survive. It is up to Anne to ensure humans aren’t hunted by their own deranged guardian angels.

After losing his corporeal body in battle with a Perfidian, Anne’s fellow Sentinel and former lover, Irish bare-knuckle boxer CON CAREY, can only visit her by possessing the bodies of humans. With Con’s wicked sense of humor, these visits get embarrassing. Meanwhile, Anne’s romance with the aloof Arch Angeli MICHAEL has intensified… much to Con’s chagrin. Dating a guardian angel isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be, and sometimes Anne wishes Michael would become infected with Perfidia, just so she could pound on him a bit.

Dragged to Annapolis, Maryland, by her snarky assistant JEFFREY, Anne explores a recently discovered mass grave with Michael, the sexual tension between the angel and the pirate nearly unbearable, even when surrounded by skeletons. The two discover the grave is a dumping ground for a very different kind of Perfidian, and this new monster has been killing humans for centuries, undetected.

Now, the unusual love triangle, the pirate, the angel and the Irishman, must work together to defeat a Perfidian of untold power, threatening to end not only the Angeli, but the world.
